Shri Poshan

Precision macro/micro nutrient orchestration

Origin & History

The nutrition layer, decoded.

Poshan (पोषण) means 'nourishment'. India's Soil Health Card scheme (2015) revealed widespread Zn, B, Fe, S deficiencies — yet farmers still apply uniform NPK. Shri Poshan layers ICAR-IISS leaf-analysis protocols on top of soil-health-card data to prescribe a per-field, per-stage nutrient orchestration that uses 30% less fertiliser for 15% more yield.

The Science

Soil samples are analysed for 12 parameters (N, P, K, S, Zn, B, Fe, Mn, Cu, OC, pH, EC). Leaf tissue is sampled at critical growth stages — DRIS (Diagnosis and Recommendation Integrated System) indices flag the most-limiting nutrient. Prescription: micronutrient foliar spray or fertigation event.

Crop Applications

How Shri Poshan shows up in the field.

Each crop responds differently to nutrition-layer intelligence. Validated across ICAR + state agri university pilots.

Sugarcane

Sugarcane

K + S at grand-growth stage lifts cane weight by 11%.

Banana

Banana

Bunch-grade B foliar spray prevents bunch-stem cracking.

Tomato

Tomato

Ca foliar spray reduces blossom-end rot by 80%.

Wheat

Wheat

Zn foliar spray at booting boosts grain protein 1.2 points.

Practices across States

Crop × state ground-truth deployments.

How Shri Poshan is being practised today — drawn from state agriculture department programmes, ICAR institutes and CIDSA field partners.

Punjab

Crop: Wheat

Punjab Agriculture University Zn-deficiency mapping; Poshan delivers per-block recommendations.

Uttar Pradesh

Crop: Sugarcane

UP Sugarcane Research Institute protocols on K + Mg foliar augmentation.

Tamil Nadu

Crop: Banana

Tirunelveli cluster — Poshan-driven Ca + B sprays in Nendran variety.

Maharashtra

Crop: Onion

Nashik onion belt — Poshan tunes S + Ca at bulb-formation stage.

Farmer Benefits

What the farmer takes home.

Shri Poshan translates field intelligence into bankable, measurable, daily outcomes — without locking the farmer into proprietary inputs.

Fertiliser cost down 25–30% with same or better yield

Hidden-hunger fixed → grain protein, fruit quality up

Less nutrient runoff → groundwater nitrate down

Custom blend strategies for FPOs at scale
